35,000 Feet High

I haven’t done much writing these days so I thought I would take sometime now sitting here at 35,000 feet in the air and do just that. We are returning from a week vacation spent in North Carolina with my family. Apart from being here on the plane, the trip was exactly what we all needed. We enjoyed rides, long walks, ice cream cones, and a ton of fun in the sun. If only I could enjoy the two and from the trip would be perfect.

I have been traveling in planes since I was six years old, some would say a very seasoned traveler and my daughter following in my footsteps is currently on her 17th flight at age 2 ½. Yet I am terrified to my very core every time I step foot in one. It’s not a logical fear and I am smart women whose is well informed of all the statics but it still doesn’t stop my heart from dropping in my stomach at every bump.  Maybe someday it will just stop!  (Always the optimist)

On this trip my daughter played so much in Papa and Nona’s pool it makes me wish we had one. She smiled and giggled so much on this trip it was such a joy to watch. My husband actually turned off his phone and shut himself off from Corporate America who knew that was possible? As for me I had my nose buried in books the whole time. I haven’t read a book in over a year, and on this trip I read three five hundred plus page books! What a treat that was!

Now we are headed back to our home, our furry children, and our day-to-day grind. I am very appreciative for the week’s break to reconnect as a family and relax.

Below are two pictures; one the three of us waiting for the plane, and the other with little missy and all her in flight entertainment.
