Our Staycation

My husband decided to take a week off work and for the first time in a really long time we didn't go anywhere. We decided to have our very own little Staycation. Since we have only lived here 6 months there seems to be endless things to do and try these days.

Do you know how entertaining bubbles are to a 3 year old? It's amazing! We go to a beautiful park in Santa Monica over looking the ocean which makes me happy, and we play with bubbles which makes my daughter can't-contain-herself-excited!
Then the next day we head over to Long Beach to do a tour of the harbor. Chloe had never ridden in a boat before so we thought this little 40 minute harbor tour would be a perfect start. She had a blast.

Then the next day we went to a little place called Travel Town. It's a museum dedicated to old railroad locomotives and cars. They also have to two little train rides that Chloe was most excited by. She has such a fascination for trains.  As for me I found these dusty old trains a tad on the ghostly side of things.
All of this fun and we didn't even leave California. It was nice for a change to be a tourist but still have all the comforts of home everynight. I never thought to do this before. Cheap and easy fun.
