Birthday & Holiday Madness

Whew! December is almost over and I have never been so grateful! The quiet has returned to my house and it’s just us three musketeers again. Usually the holidays are busy but this year I decided to see how much I can handle. Maybe I missed work and needed a challenge? Or maybe I wanted to test out my rusty Project Management skills? Not sure but I relish the peace and quiet I have now. Not to say it wasn’t fun, it was! Crazy fun.

On the 16th of December I decided to have an early birthday party for my husband to mark his 40th birthday. I had his family fly in from LA for a long weekend stay. Then two days later I had a party for my daughter’s 2nd birthday! Then his family left on Monday and my family flew in on Wednesday. Then Christmas Eve I had a party for my Mom and Dad’s families combined. Christmas Day was a little mellower with my Dad, my Stepmom, and my little family. My Dad, Stepmom, and their two dogs left the following Tuesday and Wednesday my husband picked up his best childhood friend from LA to stay the night. With all these visitors I was starting to feel like we were running a hotel here. :)
When we decided to stay home this year for the holidays and not travel it sounded like a peaceful way to spend the holidays. However, with the way we went about it this year I am not so sure. We all had a ton of fun but I have never been so exhausted and ready for the New Year.

When all this is said and done I wouldn’t have changed a thing! Now time to sleep ...
