A Path to Thoughtful Meditation

A hidden oasis designed for thoughtful mediation is what the self -realization center has to offer. The way the trees and flowers fill the pathways around the lake makes you feel like you are in a lush, tropical hideaway. It doesn’t feel like this place should be in a city but in the wilderness far off in it’s own solitude.  Then along the pathways or just off to the corner are benches to just sit with ones thoughts, be peaceful, and give gratitude. These benches are placed all over within these lavish grounds from mosaic to the traditional wood. This garden and all its charm wraps around the most dazzling lake as I mentioned above.  If you stop for just a minute and be still you can count all the ducks in the lake. There are also two glorious swans, which always let their presence be known to any new visitor. Like hey look at me! Take a picture! Also, along these pathways are wonderful little sayings spoken by the word of God. It feels like a glorious outdoor sanctuary.

While we were there they we having a mediation session in the boathouse. I slipped off my shoes without hesitation and headed in. The minute I sat down to pray and give thanks the energy in the room over took my body. It’s a feeling like no other. You can actually feel the love and God in the room as others sit with their eyes closed in deep mediation.

After leaving the mediation session I stepped onto this little dock where my daughter noticed a cluster of turtles swimming. She said,”Hey look mommy it’s a Daddy turtle, a Mommy turtle, and a Baby turtle just like us.”

I feel like the self-realization center has a lit bit for all ages to appreciate. My daughter has my mom and I (who was visiting) stop and smell all the flowers she could, sit in every bench she could, and find all the ducks and turtles she could count.  For me it was a little snippet of serenity in my otherwise hectic life caring for a 3-½ year old full time.

It’s a true gem to have something this special so close to us. It is less than three miles from my front door.  Another wonderful great find in this lovely town I moved to.
