I had my own personal fitness challenge for the month of
May. I felt we would be settled enough that I could start. I wanted to beat my
overall walking goal for the month, which is 42 miles, and I wanted to consume
less chocolate. (I was eating a few pieces of dark chocolate everyday)
Doesn’t seem to hard right? Well
remember I am still unpacking, trying to find my way, and I have a three year
old to chase after.
The Chocolate part I consider pretty successful, as I have
dropped it down to once a week. The fitness part however, I have achieved and
surpassed my goal which means I have to step up June to be a little more
challenging.
I have walked 41 miles so far and it’s only the 19th
of May, and today I completed a 5K run for breast cancer awareness. Something
that is very near and dear to my heart, and also helpful in my overall fitness
goals. Then I added in my stationary bike and last week did 12 miles, and this
week biked 14 miles. I haven’t noticed a drop in the scale but
I do notice my clothes fitting a tiny bit differently. To stay motivated I remember the saying it takes 4 weeks for
you to notice your body changing, 8 weeks for your friends, and 12 weeks for
the rest of the world.

One of the things making this exercise a little more fun for
me is doing it outside since we moved to this enchanting, picturesque little
beach town. Springtime is in full bloom here, and the seeing the ocean as I
stand over looking cliffs is just breathtaking. It makes it so much easier to exercise
when there is so much beauty around me. I have really enjoyed my month of May
fitness. I plan to step it up for June, and will keep you posted on whatever
other activities I can find here to make it more exciting and challenging.
Great pictures, keep up the great work.
