Learning My Way Around

I am going to give a some what short synopsis of my new life at a week's glance starting with last Sunday. My little family wakes up on Sunday very excited to go over to the local farmers market (which is just one street over). As we arrive we see Ben Affleck and his daughters being harassed by the paparazzi. (It makes me wonder why he bothers?) After we all have our tasty treats we head back to our place where my brother & sister-n-law stop by with my cute little nephew. We have a fun, relaxing day. We watch a movie, and then go on a walk after dinner.

Then comes Monday and I know I need to navigate my way to Bed, Bath, and Beyond for some things we need for our place. Honestly, I'm not going to lie the LA freeway systems here terrify me to my very core. I don't know why they just do. So with some lip gloss, caffeine, and vanilla (uplifting) essential oil my daughter and I head out. I manage to figure it out and end up taking a freeway to further part in Santa Monica, and we find our way perfectly. I feel quiet accomplished as I park and I hear from the back seat, "Good Job Mommy. You did it! You got us here!" However, just driving through Santa Monica itself isn't that difficult. It's like a smaller big city in Colorado like Westminister, maybe with an extra 100,000 people, and palm trees on every corner.

Then we move onto Tuesday and I get to watch my cute nephew for a few hours. It's glorious as I adore him so much. We spend some time playing and making funny faces.

Then Wednesday is May Day and I go on a wonderful walk taking pictures along the way. At one point I send my best friend back home a picture, and then she opens her front door and sends me one. What a drastic difference.

Then on to Thursday I go on another 5.5 mile walk taking tons of beautiful pictures, and also get to spend a few fun hours playing in the pool with my husband and my daughter. It was a great day. It felt like a summer vacation.

Then onto Friday, and I know your going to be shocked but my
husband and I had an actual date planned! Jump back! On a Friday night no less! We met another couple down at Venice Beach where every first Friday of the month they have a food truck bonanza happening. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was fun and festive. It caught me by surprise that my husband and I were holding hands all night and sneaking kisses like when we first met. (oh how we needed some adult time out)

Now it's Saturday and we just finished a wonderful morning at the park playing with my daughter and our dogs until everyone was so exhausted they couldn't stand it. I will soon head off on another walk in a few minutes to go stare at the gorgeous ocean, and later I will be watching my cute little nephew so my brother & sister-n-law get an opportunity for some adult time themselves.

Tomorrow is Sunday and it's Greek Easter and since my husbands family is Greek we will be celebrating it at a wonderful Greek Restaurant in Malibu after our morning at the Farmer's Market of course.

I really do love my new life here. I can't say that without saying I still really miss my mom and my best friend because I do. I think about them everyday but I am still glad we moved here. It's just such a refreshing change. It's scary and some day's I am like what did we do? But I know what we did was a good idea. There is lots of smiling going on here, and that is never a bad thing.
