In Colorado I had a bigger than average yard not quiet big enough for that riding lawn mower my husband dreamed of but close. I could barely
keep anything but the weeds alive. There was some rock, a little grass, but
basically a pretty sparse yard. It was rather pathetic and sad. I was afraid to try to grow much of anything
with my yellowish thumb, even though I dreamed of a glorious garden one day. I mean if
you look to the right side of this article to my life goals one of them is to
have a garden in which we can actually eat the food I grow! I tried a tomato
plant once and it died. Then I moved on to something simpler with some summer flowers, and yes they to died. All right, so I moved it to the great indoors and bought a
spider plant, and sadly it also went to plant heaven. I was feeling like this dream of growing actual food or even
spices was all but lost on someone like me.
Then this amazing thing happened. We moved to California,
and I have hardly any room for garden. It’s barely enough to squeeze around
from one plant to another; however, I have managed to start growing tomatoes,
strawberries, cilantro, apple mint, and even a beautifully smelling jasmine
plant. This yellow thumb I have maybe starting to get a little green after all. It's all very exciting!
